Postdoctoral Positions in Gravitational Wave Astrophysics

The Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for several postdoctoral appointments in gravitational wave physics within its Center for Relativistic Astrophysics (CRA). The areas of interest are: searches and astrophysics of gravitational wave transients in Advanced LIGO, detector characterization of Advanced LIGO data, numerical relativity and computational astrophysics. Appointments will be for two years, with subsequent renewals depending on performance and availability of funds. The starting date could be as early as January 2015, and positions will remain open until filled.

Successful candidates will join an energetic team with a strong program in gravitational wave and multi messenger astrophysics. Faculty members at the CRA (http://www.cra.gatech.edu) are David Ballantyne (high energy astrophysics), Tamara Bogdanovic (astrophysics and cosmology), Laura Cadonati (gravitational wave physics), Pablo Laguna (computational astrophysics and numerical relativity), Nepomuk Otte (particle astrophysics), Deirdre Shoemaker (gravitational wave physics and numerical relativity), Ignacio Taboada (particle astrophysics) and John Wise (cosmology).

Application materials will be accepted electronically at
https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/4884
Applicants should upload 1) a cover letter, 2) curriculum vitae, including a full list of publications, and 3) a research statement. Information on the submission of three letters of reference is provided during the on-line application process. Review of complete applications will begin December 1st, 2014. Inquires may be addressed by email to laura.cadonati[AT]physics.gatech.edu
