Mann Fest will bring together a diverse group of physicists and mathematicians to celebrate Robert Mann’s 60th birthday. Over the course of his distinguished career Dr. Mann has published over 350 scientific papers which range widely over theoretical physics including classical and quantum gravity, cosmology, quantum mechanics, field theory and particle physics. He has presented more than 250 scientific talks and supervised the research of more than 120 post-docs and students. Many of these students have gone on to their own research careers across Canada and around the world. He has also served both as the President of the Canadian Association of Physicists and the Chair of the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Waterloo.

On December 5-6, 2015 his collaborators, students and friends will gather at the University of Waterloo for a conference to celebrate his accomplishments and exchange scientific ideas. Reflecting Dr. Mann’s broad interests and the diverse career paths of his trainees the invited presentations will range from black holes to quantum information theory, quantum gravity to neutron stars and gravitational waves to cosmology.
