The Institute of Gravitational Physics at Leibniz Universitaet Hannover invites applications for a University Professorship (Salary Scale W 2 NBesO) in non-classical laser interferometry starting 1.04.2016.

The future appointment holder shall represent the field of modern laser interferometry as it is needed for the development and operation of future generations of laser-interferometric gravitational wave detectors. This includes the development and application of new light sources as well as the investigation of fundamental quantum-mechanical processes in delicate optical instruments. Close collaboration with the Max-Planck-Institute for Gravitational Physics and appropriate participation in the large research projects of the institute are expected. An important part of the duties is teaching courses at all levels, for students of physics and from other faculties.
