The Research Fellow will undertake research in the field of low-dimensional topology, with preference for the areas of knot theory, hyperbolic geometry, quantum topology, or related areas.

Monash University has a very active and growing group in topology.

The research program will cover topics related to an ARC Discovery Project focused on relating quantum invariants to hyperbolic geometry. There will also be opportunities to collaborate with others in the group and for the appointee to pursue their own independent research program.

Monash University is a leading Australian research university that ranks in the top 100 globally. Monash University is located in Melbourne, which is a major cosmopolitan centre and has been named the world’s most liveable city for five years in a row.
