Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the Interdisciplinary Center for Theoretical Study (ICTS) at University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). The position is expected to start in the fall of 2019, or earlier.

The postdoc will work with Shuang-Yong Zhou and other members of the ICTS on gravity and cosmology (broadly defined), including applications of effective field theories, gravitational wave physics, black holes, massive gravity, solitons and simulations in the early universe and strong gravity.

The University of Science and Technology of China is a top university in China, part of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Staff members of the ICTS include Li-Ming Cao, Gui-Jun Ding, Dao-Neng Gao, Sen Hu, Min-Xin Huang, MingZhe Li, JianXin Lu, Yuji Sugimoto, Qun Wang, Zhi-Guang Xiao and Shuang-Yong Zhou, with interests ranging from string and formal theory, gravity, particle and nuclear physics to cosmology. The position is for two years with possible one year extension. The annual salary is from 100,000 CNY to 180,000 CNY depending on qualifications. Generous travel funding will be provided, allowing the postdoc to travel for international conferences and collaborations. In additional, the postdoc is also entitled to housing and food benefits, including renting an on-campus apartment for about 1000 CNY per month and using the subsidized University Canteens (including the Faculty Canteen) for all three meals.
