The departments of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Arizona invite applications for a postdoctoral research position in gravitational physics, quantum field theory in curved spacetime, and/or extreme electrodynamics. The group consists of faculty Sam Gralla and Vasilis Paschalidis, affiliate faculty Paul Anderson, together with graduate students and postdoctoral researchers. We welcome applicants whose research areas overlap or complement our efforts in theoretical and computational general relativity, quantum field theory in curved spacetime and background electromagnetic fields, radio and optical interferometry, and compact object astrophysics. The successful applicant will interact with the core gravitational group and benefit from proximity to neighboring faculty including Kate Alexander, Chad Bender, CK Chan, Callum Jones, Dan Marrone, and Dave Sand.

Interested applicants should directly email Prof. Sam Gralla at sgralla@arizona.edu with a short statement of interest and a CV. Letters of recommendation will be requested for select candidates only. Applications should be received by Nov 1, 2026 for full consideration.
