The Centro Multidisciplinar de Astrofísica – CENTRA is organizing a conference in honor of the 70th birthday of Jorge Dias de Deus. He was President of CENTRA for many years and Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico – IST. His idea of geometric scaling is now part of the elementary particle physics background. These and other achievements in physics as well as other realizations in the academia and university are going to be celebrated in the conference “The Multidisciplinary Universe” organized by CENTRA. Several speakers of IST and abroad will reflect on the importance and impact of Jorge’s work.
The conference will take place in the Auditorium of the Complexo Interdisciplanar, at Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon, in July 14 and 15, 2011.
