POSTDOCTORAL POSITION
Gravity Group, Department of Physics
University of Florida
A postdoctoral position will be available in the Florida Gravity Group of the Department of Physics at the University of Florida, Gainesville, starting in the fall of 2015. Applications are invited from theorists with research interests in the area of general relativity, with specific emphasis on the observable aspects of the theory in gravitational waves, astrophysics, or experiment. The appointment is for one year, with renewal possible, subject to satisfactory performance and continued funding.
The Florida Gravity group consists of Clifford Will, Steven Detweiler, Bernard Whiting, Richard Woodard, Guenakh Mitselmakher, David Tanner, Guido Mueller, Sergei Klimenko, Steve Eikenberry (Astronomy) and John Conklin (Aerospace Engineering). The main research interests of the group are the study of inspiralling binary systems using post-Newtonian and self-force methods, strong-field and gravity-wave tests of GR, quantum gravity, LIGO optical systems and LIGO data analysis, and development of instrumentation for space-based gravitational wave detectors. We have strong collaborations with the Institute of Astrophysics of Paris. Contact Clifford Will for further information.
Send curriculum vita, statement of research interests, and three letters of reference via email to Tessie Colson . Applications received before December 15, 2014 will receive full consideration.
