The 21st International Conference on General Relativity and Gravitation (GR21) will be held in New York City, at the campus of Columbia University, on July 10-15, 2016.
The triennial GR conference series is held under the auspices of the International Society on General Relativity and Gravitation which oversees the scientific program for the meeting.
Among others the program will include: Exact solutions and their interpretation; Mathematical relativity and classical gravitation; Alternative and modified theories of gravity; Complex and conformal methods in classical and quantum gravity; Relativistic astrophysics; Numerical relativity; Approximations, perturbation theory, and their application; Cosmology: Theory and observations; Pulsar Timing Arrays; Gravitational waves: Searches, data analysis, parameter estimation, and multimessenger astronomy; Gravitational waves: Present and future of ground-based and space-based detectors; Experimental gravitation; Loop quantum gravity and spin foams; Strings, branes, entanglement, AdS/CFT, and all that; Causal sets, causal dynamical triangulations, non-commutative geometry, asymptotic safety, and other approaches to quantum gravity; Quantum fields in curved space-‐time, semiclassical gravity, quantum gravity phenomenology, and analog models; The past 100 years and the future of general relativity.
We are also very pleased to have the opportunity to introduce the research of the international GR and gravitation communities to New York City, welcome interested students from local urban schools/universities, and reach out to the general public via widely advertised public lecture(s).
The conference program will allow participants time away from the formalities of the conference sessions to network and exchange ideas with colleagues and friends from around the world. Participants and their accompanying guests will have the opportunity to experience the unique social/art/entertainment highlights of the great City of New York.
We look forward to welcoming you to New York City in July 2016.
