Applications are invited for a post-doctoral researcher, which is located out of the country, in high energy nuclear physics with the University of Kansas beginning as early as February 1, 2016. The research will deal with the development and tests of a fast timing detector both for particle physics and medical applications. A test stand will be installed at KU and the tests will take place both at CERN and KU. A smaller fraction of time will be dedicated to physics analyses of the recently taken CMS-TOTEM data as well as future prospects with higher luminosity.
Post-doctoral researcher candidates are required to have a Ph.D. in physics by date of appointment and research experience in experimental high energy nuclear science or a related experimental field. The successful candidate will contribute in several aspects of the nuclear group’s research program including detector design, development and operation, data analysis and event simulation, and publication of research results. This position is located at CERN (the European Organization for Nuclear Research, Geneva, Switzerland). Candidates with relevant interests and experience are sought. For more information and to apply go to https://employment.ku.edu/staff/4620BR. Initial review of applications will begin on December 1, 2015. Application deadline is also on December 1, 2015.
