This is a first announcement of LOOPS’17, the ninth biannual conference with focus on Loop Quantum Gravity and other background independent approaches to quantum gravity. The conference will take place at the Faculty of Physics of Uniwersytet Warszawski, Poland, from July 3rd to July 7th, 2017. The program features morning plenary talks complemented by contributed talks and panel discussions.
