The Irish Quantum Foundations meetings aim to present the current year’s most exciting developments in any research area broadly related to quantum foundations. It is not unusual for the meeting also to cover topics more broadly in theoretical and experimental physics, especially when doing so gives newly arrived and early career researchers a chance to present their work to the Irish theoretical physics community.
The event is jointly organised by Dublin City University, the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies, Maynooth University, Trinity College Dublin and University College Dublin. This year, the event will be jointly hosted by the DCU School of Mathematical Sciences and the Centre for Astrophysics and Relativity (CfAR) at DCU; it will take pace on the All Hallows campus of DCU. The meeting will run from 28th to 29th of May 2018, and will consist of two days of talks along with two public talks (Haldane and Hossenfelder) and a conference dinner. Haldane will also present the 2018 O’Raifeartaigh Memorial lecture as part of the conference.
Invited speakers this year include:
Alejandra Castro (University of Amsterdam)
Peter Coles (Maynooth University and Cardiff University)
Emmanuel Fort (ESPCI)
Duncan Haldane (Princeton University)
Sabine Hossenfelder (Frankfurt Institute of Advanced Studies)
Lionel Mason (University of Oxford)
Ricardo Monteiro (Queen Mary, University of London)
Elizabeth Winstanley (University of Sheffield)
