We invite applications for a postdoctoral scholar to work in computational relativistic astrophysics and numerical relativity at Caltech for a position starting in September 2024 (or sooner).
The postdoctoral scholar will be working with Elias R. Most on nuclear and plasma physics aspects of multi-messenger gravitational wave events, including associated high-energy transients. The postdoctoral scholar will also participate in Caltech’s numerical relativity efforts, which are part of the Simulating Extreme Spacetimes Collaboration.

This position is based at the Theoretical Astrophysics Including Relativity (TAPIR) group. There will be frequent opportunity to interact and collaborate with other TAPIR faculty members (Katerina Chatziioannou, Yanbei Chen, Jim Fuller, Phil Hopkins, Sterl Phinney, Mark Scheel and Saul Teukolsky), as well as members of LIGO Lab and Caltech’s Astronomy department.

The initial appointment will be for two years with an expected renewal for a third year, subject to performance and availability of funds.
