With Albert Einstein’s theory of general relativity entering its 100th year since its inception in 1915, we are organizing a workshop on one of its most profound predictions – gravitational waves. The detection of gravitational waves is expected to launch a new era in general relativity and astrophysics. The workshop focuses on Gravitational Wave Astronomy – Methods, Sources, and Observation.
Topics include mathematical relativity, numerical relativity, source modeling, astrophysical sources, data analysis, and detector development. The workshop marks the conclusion of the SFB/TR7, a collaborative research center of the German Research Foundation.
Confirmed speakers include: Karsten Danzmann, Paulo Freire, Mark Hannam, Thomas Janka, Ronny Nawrodt, Luciano Rezzolla, Gerhard Schaefer, Fabian Schmidt, Roman Schnabel, Masaru Shibata, David Shoemaker, Nikolaos Stergioulas.
Participants are asked to register until November 15 at
