The Gravitational Physics Division of the EPS is organizing their 5th Conference on Gravitation at the Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague on 9-11 Dec 2024. The defining theme is “Unlocking Gravity Through Computation”, zooming in on a key challenge faced by gravity researchers, namely the enormous physical and mathematical complexity of gravitation, in both its classical and quantum domains. Describing gravitational phenomena beyond a weak-field regime and in the absence of global symmetries requires refined computational methods. Progress in understanding black hole properties, binary systems, the early universe and astrophysical environments therefore depends critically on further developing our computational tool box.
We are delighted to have assembled a broad and diverse range of keynote speakers, who work at the forefront of creating and applying numerical, analytical and simulation methods. We aim for a dynamical and constructive meeting, with critical discussions on the future challenges and opportunities for computation in gravity. Plenty of space will be given to junior researchers to present their views and contributions, and the EPS Poster Prize will be awarded to the best poster contribution by a PhD student. Visit the conference website for registration and submission of abstracts for posters and contributed talks.
