The high energy astrophysics group at Fudan University (Shanghai, China) is accepting applications for Master/PhD positions from non-Chinese students for the next academic year (starting in September 2025).

For the Master Program, the candidates must have a Bachelor degree in Physics or in a related area before September 2025. For the PhD Program, the candidates must have a Master degree in Physics or in a related area before September 2025. Courses and research are conducted in English. Both the Master and the PhD Programs normally last 3 years.

We are looking for candidates with experience/interest in development of astrophysical codes for the analysis of black hole X-ray data. Ideal candidates should have a solid knowledge of General Relativity and excellent coding skills in C/C++ and/or Python. Priority may be given to candidates applying for PhD positions.

The group is led by Prof. Cosimo Bambi and usually consists of 2-3 postdoctoral researchers, 10-15 graduate students, and 5-8 undergraduate students. More details can be found on the group webpage.
