The Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA) in Pune (India) invites applications for a postdoctoral position in Theoretical Modelling of Compact stars and Gravitational Waves.

One of the diverse interests of the NSGW group at IUCAA is to probe extreme matter properties with the help of gravitational waves from neutron stars. Selected candidates will get an opportunity to work on developing models for Neutron stars as GW sources and to look for signatures in GW data. Applications are particularly encouraged from those who have prior expertise in neutron star astrophysics, numerical modelling and/or GW data analysis. The candidates will have an exciting exposure to work in collaboration within a large international GW community.

The selected candidate will work in the active and vibrant research group of Dr Debarati Chatterjee (Associate Professor). The NSGW group at IUCAA currently comprises of 6 PhD students and several masters and project students. The group members are conscious about maintaining a diverse and inclusive environment and welcome applicants particularly from women or any underrepresented sections.
