We are pleased to announce the workshop Nonlinear Black Hole Perturbation Theory: Merging Black Holes, Communities and Ideas, which will be hosted by the Nottingham Centre of Gravity at the University of Nottingham, UK, 15-17 September 2025.

The workshop will bring together leading experts and early career researchers from two communities: gravitational self-force and black hole ringdown calculations. Motivated by the needs of precision gravitational-wave astronomy, both fields have had recent breakthroughs in understanding and modelling nonlinear effects in black hole perturbation theory. The workshop aims to capitalize on this advent of high-precision modelling by exploring synergies between the self-force and ringdown communities.

Additional information and the registration form can be found on the workshop web page. Note that registration will be moderated due to limited space.

The workshop immediately follows the 2nd Annual Workshop on Self-Force and Amplitudes (https://indico.global/event/4539/), 9-12 September at the University of Southampton, which is well connected to Nottingham by train. We encourage interested participants to register for both events.

Best wishes,
Beatrice Bonga, Stephen Green, Adam Pound, Laura Sberna, Leo Stein, Niels Warburton, and Barry Wardell
