Location:  York, UK

We are pleased to announce that the University of York will host the workshop New Directions in Semiclassical Gravity from 14 – 17 September 2026.

Registration is now open. We warmly invite you to register to attend and to submit a contributed talk by 30 June 2026. Please note that there is no registration fee for this workshop. Limited funding is available to support students and early-career researchers. For further details, please contact the organizers via email.

This workshop will bring together experts making recent contributions on the semiclassical regime of quantum gravity, including mathematicians, physicists, and philosophers. Its aim is to foster a multidisciplinary environment to spearhead progress in the field, particularly in the understanding of the mathematical properties of the theory, its regime of applicability, and its consequences for fundamental physics. This is especially relevant at a moment in which mathematical techniques have matured sufficiently to tackle open problems in the field.
