Advanced Lectures on Theoretical Physics
Supporting physics teaching and research in Latin America

Physics Without Frontiers (PWF) and PhysicsLatam are pleased to announce our upcoming course on Theoretical Particle Physics. This course will be taught online from September 2024 to January 2025.

This advanced course is designed for senior undergraduate and graduate students from Latin America who have a background in QFT and are interested in exploring the Standard Model in depth. Students who complete the course will receive an ICTP-PWF certificate.
Throughout the course, students will engage with other students from different universities in Latin America to study a range of topics in particle physics, including the Standard Model of Particle Physics, Quantum Field Theory, QCD, and the Higgs mechanism, quantum gravity, string theory, among other topics. Students will have the opportunity to solve weekly assignments and participate in online discussions.
To further enhance the learning experience, the course will feature a series of guest speakers who will deliver short lectures on the latest developments in theoretical particle physics, including dark matter, neutrino oscillations, and the physics beyond the Standard Model.

PWF is committed to providing a platform for students in Latin America to pursue advanced studies in physics. As part of this commitment, top-performing students without MSc./Ph.D. will be mentored to pursue studies abroad by providing advice and recommendations about scholarships at international programs.

HOW TO APPLY
The application procedure for the Theoretical Particle Physics course is now open here from July 1st to August 31st, 2023.
