The Dept. of Physics at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) invites applications for a three year post-doctoral position in gravitational-wave physics. The applicant would spend two years at CMU (w/ Ira Rothstein) and the final year at JPL (w/ Michele Vallisneri). Greater consideration will be given to applicants whose interests lie in producing gravitational-wave templates for inspiralling binaries in the Post-Newtonian expansion, using tools including the effective-field theory techniques developed by Rothstein and Goldberger. Applications should be submitted to and should include a CV, a list of publications, a statement of research interests, and three letters of recommendation. All materials, including all letters of recommendation, must be received by December 15, 2009.
