A post-doctoral position is available within the Gravitation Group of the University of Guelph, to start in September 2011. This position is for a duration of two years, with a possibility of renewal for a third year. The Guelph Gravitation Group consists of two faculty members, Luis Lehner and Eric Poisson, at least one post-doctoral fellow, and a number of graduate students. Research interests include computational relativity and astrophysics, the physics of black holes, gravitational waves, and the gravitational self-force. The group enjoys close ties with Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics and the Canadian Institute for Theoretical Astrophysics, and we also have a wide network of international collaborators.
We are looking for an exceptional researcher who will work with us in a stimulating scientific environment. Preference might be given to persons already actively working in the research areas listed previously, but candidates working in closely related areas are also encouraged to apply. The interested candidate should submit (i) a curriculum vitae, (ii) a list of publications, (iii) a statement of research interests, and (iv) have three letters of recommendation sent to the address appearing below. Consideration of these applications will begin on June 15th, 2011, and will continue until the position is filled. Applications should be sent via e-mail.
