The DFG Research Training Group “Models of Gravity” invites applications for a Postdoc position in Theoretical Physics, salary group (Entgeltgruppe) 13 TV-L, to be appointed on April 1st 2012. The position which is located at the University Oldenburg is limited up to two years.
The Research Training Group consists of gravity groups working at the Universities of Bremen, Oldenburg, Bielefeld, Hannover, Copenhagen, as well as at the Jacobs University Bremen. We intend to obtain a better understanding of Einstein’s General Relativity and of generalised theories of gravity as given by, e.g., string theory. Responsibilities and Duties:
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to continue her/his academic career in theoretical physics in the area of gravitational physics. She/he is expected to contribute to the teaching programme of the Research Training Group.
Employment conditions:
The applicant is required to have a PhD in Mathematics or Physics and should have strong expertise in General Relativity and numerical solutions of the Einstein field equations.
