The Institute of Physics at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Valparaiso (PUCV) in Chile is opening a full-time academic position in the area of Gravitation and Cosmology. The Gravitation and Cosmology group of the PUCV consists of 7 faculty members, 8 postdocs and several graduate and undergraduate students. Candidates with research interests in the areas of cosmology, early and late Universe physics, modified gravity, black hole physics, classical and quantum gravity, AdS/CFT and their interface with mathematical physics are encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will already have shown outstanding research achievements or potential, and have an outstanding proven record of research in an area that strengthens, complements and enhances existing research of the group.

The candidate must hold a PhD in Physics, have a superior research profile in one of the proposed areas, demonstrate the ability to obtain external (to PUCV) funding, and demonstrate potential to emerge as an internationally recognized scholar.
