To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the momentous first detection of gravitational waves, GW150914, a three-day event will be held in Mallorca, Spain. Monday, September 15, and Tuesday, September 16 there will be an international scientific meeting at the Auditorium of the ParcBit campus, adjacent to the University of the Balearic Islands. This will be followed by outreach activities for local students and the general public on Wednesday, September 17. The full programme is now available at https://grg.uib.es/10thAnniversaryGW150914/ and registration remains open until 31 August.
The meeting will cover the historical context and impact of the first discovery itself, the highlights of the exciting present of gravitational-wave astronomy, and its bright future prospects. There will be high-level talks by invited speakers, a limited number of contributed talks and a poster session open to all participants, room for strategic discussions with a focus on GW science in Spain, and a festive reception on Monday evening. We encourage broad participation from the GW community in Europe for this unique occasion.
Abstract submission for contributed talks is now closed, but registration for attendance is still open until August 31 and all participants are welcome to also present scientific posters (please provide a title on registration, but no abstract is needed). There is no registration fee. Further details and the registration form are available at
