The Department of Physics at Wake Forest University is seeking applications for a tenure track position beginning July 2024. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Physics or a related area and are expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to both teaching and research. The Department is searching for candidates whose research is in one of three areas:

* Condensed Matter Physics (particularly in materials-focused experimental or theoretical/computational research),
* Biophysics (including all areas of experimental or theoretical/computational biophysics but particularly in biomaterials, disease-focused biophysics, or applications involving machine learning), or
* Gravitational Physics and Astrophysics (particularly in the general areas of gravitational-wave and multi-messenger research, and numerical relativity).

Those whose research interests complement those of current Wake Forest Physics faculty are particularly encouraged to apply, as we are looking to increase opportunities for collaborative research. In keeping with the Teacher-Scholar model practiced at Wake Forest University, the successful candidate will teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels with a focus on creating a learning environment that welcomes all students into scientific study and supports their ongoing success, along with establishing a vigorous, externally supported research program.
