We plan to organize a conference “Probing Strong Gravity near Black Holes”, to be held in Prague next year (15-18 February 2010). Interested colleagues and students will be most welcome to participate. For further information and news please visit the Conference website <http://astro.cas.cz/bh2010>.
We are at early stages of the conference set up. Pre-registration is now open via the website. Please feel free to let anyone who might be interested know about this conference.
With best wishes,
Vladimir Karas, Giorgio Matt, & Matteo Guainazzi
(on behalf of organizers)
To discuss and compare different methods to study strong gravity effects around astrophysical black holes. Both theoretical and, when available, observational results will be discussed in the context of present and future approaches: line and continuum spectroscopy, timing, polarimetry, imaging…
