Location:  Bloomington, Indiana, USA

The Fifth IUCSS Summer School and Workshop on the Standard-Model Extension (SME) will be held as an nline event hosted by the Physics Department, Indiana University in Bloomington, from Friday May 10 to Sunday May 19, 2024. This School is aimed primarily at students and researchers in theory and experiment who seek a pedagogical introduction to the SME framework.

The School will cover the fundamentals of the field, including the effective field theory framework for Lorentz and CPT violation. This framework will serve as the stepping stone for more advanced explorations of current trends in phenomenological, experimental, and theoretical research areas, progressing to the forefront of the study of Lorentz and CPT symmetry. This lecture material will be reinforced and supplemented by discussion sessions. The School will also provide the participants a showcase for their own work in short presentations. An IUCSS Workshop on recent research in SME physics will be held concurrently during the last part of the School.
